The marketplace isn’t just home to creator designs — it’s also home to licensed merch from official brands. A new label helps set them apart.

What’s new?

As you’re sure to have seen, the marketplace isn’t just home to creative designs on almost every subject and for almost every niche under the sun. There are also all kinds of official designs from licensed brands. These include strong brands like Batman, Harry Potter, AC/DC and many more. In future, these merch and fan products will be sold with the label “Official merch”. And the Showrooms that contain official branded products will also receive a blue tick. This makes the marketplace more user-friendly and clearer for customers.

What’s the idea behind the new “Official merch” label?

The new label is first and foremost about trust. Trust in the sense that customers can be assured that they can only buy legal and verified brand products on the marketplace. The labels on the product images and in the Showroom tell them which products are official licensed merch right away.

Does the new label impact design rankings?

No. The new label is only used to provide clarity for customers and to make it easier for them to use the marketplace. That’s also why this label and the blue tick will only be used for official licenses.
